Summer Leagues Registration Open

WDS is pleased to open registration for the first summer leagues of 2011/12.

We recently consulted on changes to the league structures, and the new leagues reflect the results of that consultation.  The details of the feedback and the decisions reached are set out in a document on the WDS website, but in short, players of all strengths can play in all leagues – teams will be matched within leagues, rather than through restrictions to entry.  In particular, please note that we are now offering men’s and women’s leagues on Thursday night, players of all levels are encouraged to enter.
Registrations close on 9 October (for Tuesday's mixed 7-a-side) and 14 October (for all other leagues).  If there are more registrations than playing space, I will draw team names from a hat to determine which registrations will be unsuccessful. I will respond to all team registrations by 10 October for Tuesday's league, and 16 October for Monday's league. Individual player entrants will be notified once teams have been compiled.

Registration and payments

To register for the Monday and Tuesday leagues you must have a team created on the website and there must be players on that team. Once the 11Q4 league has started the roster on the website will be considered the team roster. However, as there are teams that will play in both indoors and outdoors seasons, under the same name, but may have different rosters for each season, please fill out the roster form for each team you wish to register and email it back to Vic Johns, the Leagues Coordinator.
The roster must include contact details for the captain (the email and cellphone numbers will be shared with other captains, to allow for quicker contact in event of defaults).

To register for the men’s league please fill out the survey here.
To register for the women's league please fill out the survey here.

Teams with outstanding league fees from previous leagues won't be accepted into the next league.
Once I have finalised teams, team Captains (or individuals for draft leagues) will receive an invoice.  Payment will be due within two weeks of receiving the invoice.  After this two week period there will be a $50 penalty fee for teams with unpaid fees, and a $10 penalty fee for  individuals in the draft leagues.

Other information

There will be a mandatory meeting for all team Captains on the first league night at 6pm at Martin Luckie. If the captain can't attend for some reason, a team must still send a representative. I don't expect this meeting to last too long. We will quickly go through the league rules and regulations, and discuss the draw format, and a few other bits and pieces.

Please familiarize yourself with the game rules and the league regulations (to be updated shortly, please read the regulations specific for outdoors.

This year we will not be providing game discs, so teams must supply their own.  This is mainly because it is becoming harder to recruit league managers due to the increasing amount of equipment they need to carry as the leagues have grown in size; and also because the discs get lost or destroyed relatively quickly.
